Claude Code vs Codex for Video Automation: Which One to Use

For the specific task of filling content into a pre-built Remotion template, Claude Code and Codex are closer in capability than their broader reputations suggest — both are coding agents that can read a transcript, reason about it, and write the resulting code into an existing structure.

What's actually the same

The core loop — read a transcript, decide on content, write it into fixed slots in tested code, verify the result — doesn't depend on which agent runs it. Neither agent has an inherent advantage at "picking the best line from a transcript" or "converting a timestamp to a frame number"; these are generic reasoning and arithmetic tasks.

Where practical differences show up
